David is a climate leader and a Program Manager of GIFSEP- Global Initiative for Food Security and Ecosystem Preservation based in Nigeria. Driven from deeply held conviction, with his personal mantra “Thou shall not pollute the Earth”, he applies a degree in
Agricultural Engineering with a specialization in Soil and Water Management and a postgraduate certificate in Renewable energy. His passion is training people, young and old, in best practices for building Climate Change Resilience.
David Mike advocates, educates and mobilizes communities to respond to a changing climate through hands on and practical activities some of which includes; development of community Climate Change Risk Register and Land Use Planning, Solar for internally displaced persons camp #SolarForIDPCamps which has so far provided solar lights 1500 households in IDP camps in Nigeria, founded and coordinates 100 environmental clubs in
schools with activities such as Tree for schools, solar for schools, gardens for schools and waste recycle stations for schools.
David is a member United Nations NGO Committee on Sustainable Development and NGO
Major Group Urban Cluster- NY. David is the African Regional Coordinator for Citizens
Climate Lobby, a member of the Resilient 40 and 350 Africa among others.

Climate change and the future of our region
Despite having contributed the least to global warming and having the lowest emissions, Africa faces exponential collateral damage, posing systemic risks to its economies, water, and food systems, public health, agriculture, and livelihoods, threatening to undo its modest development gains and slip into higher levels of extreme poverty.
